Ingredients
Instructions
-
Add flour, salt, eggs and water into a large bowl.
-
Use a sturdy wooden spoon on spatula and mix the eggs with the flour and water.
Start from the inside and work the flour in the batter little by little.
This will take some arm strength, but you can do it!
-
Once the dough or batter is mixed correctly you can see blisters forming when you mix.
-
Put the bowl to the side and get your water boiling in a large pot. Add some salt to it.
-
Get your Spätzle Press, Board or whatever you use ready. Fill it to the top with batter.
Push down the level slowly until you see the batter coming out of the holes like little sausages.
-
Keep pressing until all the batter is gone. Let it cook until the Spätzle float on the top. Cook for another 1 minute at a rolling boil. Turn the heat down. Then use a mesh ladle strainer or a slotted spoon to take out the Spätzle.
-
Scoop them in a strainer and run them under cold water for 30 seconds. That way they won't stick together.
-
Keep them warm and repeat the process until all the batter is transformed into Spätzle.
Enjoy!
